We identified a need for a reliable and accurate system to extract information from receipts. Existing third-party tools did not meet our requirements, prompting us to develop our own in-house solution.

Our team developed a custom OCR model specifically designed for Japanese receipts. The development process involved:

• Data Collection and Labeling: We gathered and labeled a comprehensive dataset of receipts to train our model effectively.
• Custom Model Training: We trained a custom model to accurately read Japanese receipts.
• Proof of Concept (PoC) Development: We developed and released a fully functional PoC demonstrating the capabilities of our solution.

Impact:

Our custom OCR solution provides a robust and accurate method for extracting data from Japanese receipts. This technology has the potential to:

• Automate receipt processing, saving time and resources.
• Improve data accuracy compared to manual entry or existing OCR tools.
